‘Making impact measurement land with a large, remote audience’
The Situation
Hunter New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network (HNECC PHN) wanted to build its staff's understanding of the basic principles of impact measurement, ensuring that staff across departments developed a shared language and understanding of how to apply impact measurement in their day-to-day work.
What I Did
I ran a staff learning session focused on two core building blocks of impact measurement: Impact Stakeholder Mapping and Theory of Change. This 2-hour workshop was designed to be accessible to a large online audience with a wide range of prior experience.
The Outcome
The clearest sign the session worked was a staff member changing their own practice the very next day, swapping out a question in a survey they use based on what they had learned.
"Elena did a great job with the introduction to impact measurement learning session for our staff. The content was clear, engaging and relevant. She managed a large online audience with ease and good humour. I was very pleased that a staff member came to my office the next day and said they would change one question in the survey they use based on what they learned from the session. That is a very clear indication that the content landed well."
